The Cathedral Choir is an enthusiastic S.A.T.B., adult, voluntary choir, which currently has around twenty members. It sings a wide range of music from Plainchant to Rutter, and leads the singing at the Cathedral’s 10am Sunday morning Mass, and on other special days.
Weekly choir practice is at 9am on Sunday morning, immediately before the 10am Sung Mass. New members of any denomination are always most welcome. Please contact the Director of Music on 01752 226614 for more information.
The Cathedral’s current organist and Director of Music, since 2001, is Christopher Fletcher. He is a graduate and Fellow of Trinity College, London and since moving down to Devon in 1984 has been actively involved in choral singing, church music and teaching.
In addition to his duties at the Cathedral, Christopher has been conductor of Plymouth Philharmonic Choir since 1996, and conductor of the Stanborough Chorus and the Lupridge Singers since 2010. |
