We recently had the privilege of hosting the visit of the Dowry Tour of Our Lady of Walsingham. During the tour we celebrated beautiful Masses, with our parishioners and some of the children from our Catholic Schools who joined us for special school Masses. Bishop Mark welcomed the Dowry Tour with a Solemn Mass and Procession which was followed by the Act of Consecration, after which Monsignor John Armitage gave interesting talks about the Dowry of Mary.
Friday began with special Masses for our schools where we were joined by Holy Cross, St Joseph's, the Cathedral, Keyham Barton, St Peter's, and St Paul's School children from the various year groups who read the liturgy beautifully. Friday finished with a very moving Eucharistic Healing Service and Benediction. During the Healing Service many were moved to tears by the power of the Eucharist.
The tour closed on the Saturday with a Solemn Mass celebrated by Canon Mark O'Keeffe.
We are very grateful to all the staff and volunteers both within the Cathedral and from the Dowry Tour who worked so hard to make the visit a most memorable one. We pray that the tour will continue to be a spiritual and moving experience for all those who share with it.
A selection of photographs can be viewed below. Unfortunately, due to GDPR we are currently unable to share the schools photographs online.
